User Permissions
ION syncs students to staff members through their rosters. Troubleshooting permissions may involve...
(1) Providing different role access to those staff members who typically do not have rosters
(2) Ensuring staff have access to the varied schools
(3) Verifying rosters have been uploaded and synced to ION

ion district administrator privileges are required to set user permissions.

Typically, if users do not see the correct students, one or more of these areas are not set correctly to view students and their data. See Managing Users for more information.
Some questions to ask:
- Can you see your name under the Welcome button? If not, there may be an issue with roles setup.
- Do you see the school(s) you work in on the school dropdown? If not, it may be that the school needs to be assigned in permissions.
- Which button is showing? Rosters, Teams, or MTSS? Try clicking the button to see if access to students change: Rosters means access to this year's roster, Teams provides access to grade level or house teams, MTSS provides access to those students in intervention groups or on cases.
SIS Sync in ION
If the permission settings and user selections have not resolved the issue, you may need
Some questions to ask:
- If I see some students, are they from this year or last year's roster? If you are seeing last year's students, it may be that the connection between the district SIS and ION has been disrupted. Contact ION support so the tech team can work with the district tech team to re-establish the connection.
- If I don't see any students, have I verified all my permissions, roles, and schools are correct? If all the permissions, roles and school are correct, contact ION support so the tech team can verify current courses are coming in and that the connection between the district SIS and ION has not been disrupted.
